Sometimes You Can’t

If there’s one thing this moment in our democracy has taught us, it’s that you can’t prepare for everything.

There isn’t a way to prepare for the most traumatic moment of your life.

Following the event there are things you can do. You can start looking for trigger or content warnings. You can learn to express yourself through writing or creating other art. You can confide in people who can help to keep you safe and functional.

Engaging in things that remind you of your power is always an incredible thing.
