Let’s Talk about Goals

It is, once again, the time of year when we are focusing on setting goals.  While I think there are many times of year we could focus on setting goals or resolutions (think birthdays, anniversaries, the start of a new semester, and more!) this is when those New Year’s Resolutions are something we all have in common. It’s our common ground in January. If your main goal is to stay fit and healthy or to lose weight, then congratulations! You have common ground with 69 percent of Americans.

But imagine for a minute with me, what if your goals weren’t just about your body? That’s what we’ll be talking about this month.  I am so excited to engage with you in talking about setting SMART goals (more on that on Wednesday!) to help you succeed in your personal and professional life, your relationship, and doing it in a holistic way.  And my own writing wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t also talk about empowering our kids to set their own goals (or sometimes the goals we want them to achieve, like staying dry through the night for my oldest).

Let’s work together to make 2018 the best year we’ve ever had!

  1. I’ve never really been one for New Years resolutions or goals – mine usually start around Independence Day, because that’s when CONvergence is. I’m always sweltering in the heat and trying get into costume. Heh.

But more of my goals have started to gear towards self-care, because it’s been pointed out to me (repeatedly) that I keep putting other people’s needs before my own. Writing more, sleeping better, learning to say “no” to things, setting time aside to do housework, and the like.

I’m looking forward to your upcoming posts about goals. 😀
